Economic Term and Healthcare History Essay Example for Free

Financial Term and Healthcare History Essay During history, human services financial aspects has changed extensively. The fundamental explanation that boost change in human services monetary are innovation and clinical consideration, anyway a great deal has to do with transformative changes that the U.S. suffered from the earliest starting point. It is basic to grasp social insurance income framework and financial history. Overseers utilize this information to help sort out the fate of the enterprise. In this paper, I intend to utilize the terms to expand on the history and advancement of medicinal services financial matters and the course of events of account. Prior to the time of 1990, there was not a huge medicinal services in America. American clinical affiliation was simply beginning, individual were utilizing home solution for treat diseases, doctor was making house call and exchange administration for good, facility were simply beginning, and there were nothing of the sort as medical coverage. In any case, among the age of 1901 and 1940 human services and treatment rolled out some noteworthy improvement. Facility turned out to be progressively important Antibiotics were discovered, enhancements were made in tidiness, and people thought of thoughts for business advantage. Additionally, people thought of thoughts for medical coverage. In the time of 1960 standardized savings has been completed, Medicare Medicaid contracted into law, and Health Insurance Company were coming up all finished (PBS, 1960). In the time of 1970, HMO came as a result, and the expense of medicinal services began running wild and expanding. Since we place incred ible incentive on wellbeing, human services wind up costing a ton. Wellbeing is so essential to us that it go past the staff we have. The quantity of years authority applies in preparing the more cash government utilizes on general wellbeing. Likewise, medical coverage plans give by foundation are result as the hugeness society put on human services. Generally significant, the way that what doctor give is critical to us, we are eager to spend a great deal on their preparation. Medicinal services cost keeps on expanding in the course of recent years. This causes an issue for the old and low salary person. For instance, older and low pay individuals family members can't get wellbeing treatment. Duringâ the most recent 10 years, government have pushed for a national human services framework. On March 23, 2010 the Affordable Care Act become sanction (HHS, 2010). This is to modernize the social insurance business, ensuring people can get medical coverage and administration, lessen protection trick, and decrease the expense of human services. In the time of 2014, this is believed to be finished. Financial matters, microeconomics (specific viewpoint monetary identified with firm), macroeconomics (general angle monetary identifi ed with firm), Supply, request, Inelasticity, flexibility, and GDP (complete market esteem). While worried with Economics, it is a great idea to investigate and test approaches to compose and back the framework so as to improve quiet consideration. At its most fundamental level, medicinal services is a bunch of money related exchanges, in which patients are acquiring protection, doctors and clinics offer types of assistance, drug stores give prescriptions, and insurance agencies pay for those products and enterprises. So to comprehend wellbeing financial aspects, you should follow the cash. When following the progression of assets through the social insurance framework, its critical to know that the cash trail is continually moving, altering course and size. Generally significant, the objective is to improve the conveyance of wellbeing administrations, subsidize imaginative and savvy clinical techniques, cut the expenses of medical coverage, improve the countries wellbeing through anticipation and better sustenance, and dispense with unite and defilement in the medicinal services industry while raising it to a level that is consistent with the remainder of the world. While worried with flexibly and request, serious markets use costs to assign products and enterprises to clients who need them the most (in fiscal terms) and to pay providers for delivering those merchandise and ventures (Thomas E. Getzen, 2007). Most genuine markets and for all intents and purposes every clinical market withdraw somewhat from the model of immaculate rivalry. In any case, its a helpful beginning stage for assessing the financial powers that shape human exchanges, in any event, when time, agony, hazard, and convention cause considerable deviations from the ba sic model. The interest bend has been examined finally. Yet, shouldn't something be said about flexibly? Once more, its indispensable to take note of that the financial idea of gracefully is constantly a flexibly bend. A gracefully bend is a chart (or timetable) that shows the aggregate sum of a decent that merchants wish to sell at each cost. This bend stresses change, permitting us to concentrate on a scope of answers demonstrating how firms will shift the sum provided as the cost increments or diminishes. Simply the demandâ curve the negligible advantage bend demonstrating how individuals the market willing compensation for more unit great impeccable rivalry the gracefully bend minimal cost bend indicating what amount paid instigate the market give more unit. Firms confronting inelastic interest see that the complete income goes down when they sell more units. Firms confronting versatile interest find that benefits increment when costs are decreased to sell more units. Firms con fronting unit flexibility see that absolute incomes stay unaffected. Most clinical consideration is moderately inelastic. Agony, basic needs, dread of hazard, and protection will in general diminishing the job of cost in tolerant dynamic. Note what befalls a firm that sells a greater amount of an inelastic decent: Because expanding the amount sold by 2 percent requires a generous decrease in esteem, maybe 10 percent, the firm loses cash. Most medical clinics face inelastic interest, particularly for crisis administrations, yet they charge not as much as benefit boosting costs. Why dont they charge more if doing so would expand benefits? The reasons are many, running from the craving to help the poor to managerial powers over admissible changes. Likewise, the affectability to value change today is fundamentally not exactly a definitive reaction to a value change over the long haul. Some clinical goodsâ€especially those for which buyers have a few options and enough data ahead of time of procurement, for example, hypersensitivity medicationsâ€are value versatile. For these products, absolute incomes would decay if costs were expanded. Along these lines, its more probable that a clinical supplier confronting versatile interest is acting progressively like a standard benefit amplifying firm. Be that as it may, value controls, casual standards about cheating, and different deviations from immaculate rivalry may at present be huge, even in the more value delicate clinical markets. Taking everything into account, history medicinal services financial matters has changed impressively. The essential explanation that boost change in human services financial are innovation and clinical consideration, anyway a great deal has to do with transformative changes that the U.S. suffered from the earliest starting point. It is fundamental to appreciate medicinal services income framework and monetary history. Executives utilize this information to help compose the fate of the enterprise. Since change human services improve the conveyance wellbeing administrati ons reserve and clinical methodology cut the costs medical coverage improve the country wellbeing avoidance and better sustenance and dispense with unite and defilement the social insurance industry while raising it is consistent the rest the world Most critical, in this paper I expounded on the history andâ evolution of medicinal services financial matters and the course of events of money utilizing the term. Wishes for 2010 in Writing Richmond Writing

Wishes for 2010 in Writing Richmond Writing Im hoping for the following on our campus this   year:  Steady growth in what Stanford calls a culture of writing. I love this phrase from their Hume Writing Center. This would involve, at Richmond, faculty engagement in the forthcoming seminars to prepare us to teach in the First-Year Seminar program, more writing in disciplines where it is not traditionally assigned, and, perhaps, a different way of thinking beyond writing to get it done by students. More work with technology in writing assignments. Eng. 103 faculty have done an admirable job, during their swansong years as the program winds down. But how many of my other colleagues have writers work online with blogs, wikis, or multimedia compositions?   These are the sorts of writing our students will do beyond the college gates, and Im not seeing enough of this sort of work assigned.  Fewer busy work assignments. Many of our students take writing less seriously than they might because we pack in so much reading, short assignments that never get assessed, and so forth. Part of this, I feel, stems from faculty belief that students wont do any work unless we push them. My policy of late has been to assign less but assess more carefully. Grades still motivate students; a short write to learn in each class that may be occasionally graded will keep students reading more than regular and lengthy assignments. Then writers will have more time for formal writing. Those are three wishes from the Writing Center Director! Well see what 2010 brings.

The Prison Industrial Complex And The United States Essay

â€Å"One out of every 31 Americans (7 Million) are in prison, jail, or some other form of correctional supervision. A high incarceration rate in the United States has led to the prison-industrial complex, which has provided jobs and profits to legions of companies and people. The field of corrections is big business.†1 I believe that this fact is the best way in which to start my paper. The main idea of corrections, as the name suggests, is to correct the behavior that has caused an offender to stray from the straight and narrow. However, as our prison population grows and recidivism rates increase we are not only seeing our prison system fail, but we are seeing a new and emerging industry take hold in this country. Increasing prison populations and the number of re-offenders is showing a relatively obvious failure of the current system. In my time as a criminal justice major I have taken a variety of classes on criminal justice, one of the most interesting for me (aside fr om this class) was restorative justice. In my restorative justice class I was introduced to the idea that the criminal justice system was taking the conflict away from the victim and the community and was focusing too much on punishment and not enough on rehabilitation. I understand that some people feel that restorative justice is too lenient, that by allowing offenders to bypass jail restorative justice gives them a pass and allows them to basically get away with an offense, however restorativeShow MoreRelatedPrison Industrial Complex Economics And The United States1157 Words   |  5 Pagesthe United States than any other country. Critically Evaluate Social Identity Theory - 2060 Words

Lauren Thom, 3215788. Psyc 315: Social Psychology 2,046 words. Critically evaluate Social Identity Theory. Who are you? Who am I? These are questions that we all ponder at some point or another in our lives. As human beings we are seemingly inundated with the desire to classify and categorise. We are constantly defining and analysing the differences that we observe in the world, it seems only natural that we would apply this method of classification to our position within our society. More specifically, we want to understand our social identities and this can be achieved by acknowledging which groups we identify most with. Tajfel and Turner (1986) define this phenomenon of classification within a social context as†¦show more content†¦Human beings tend to see the group that they associate with in a more favourable light than the groups that they do not associate with. This is known as â€Å"in-group favouritism† (Turner and Tajfel, 1986) One explanation as to why this is done is that we boost our self esteem by viewing the group we belong to in a more favourable light than the group with which we have no affiliation. This seems quite logical in that we feel a sense of pride when our group seems somewhat better or superior to other groups. One could argue that this then inflates our sense of belonging in the world if we feel that there are others who share similar values to us. This then strengthens our resolve by essentially confirming that we are engaging in the right behaviours and holding the right ideals as we associate ourselves with others who feel the same as we do. This then leads them to strengthen our tenacity of in-group favouritism by rewarding our prejudiced behaviours. A positive outcome of this is that it can have a flow on effect to our altruistic nature as human beings and we would be more likely to help those with whom we feel a certain affiliation. It is in this regard that the Social Identity Theory can yield positive results through a framework of philanthropic behaviour and support for in-group members. The converse of this behaviour is that we see an increase in negative behaviours towards those with whom we feel have conflicting goals and essentially belong to an â€Å"out group†.Show Mo reRelatedSocial Relationships Of A Teacher s Environment942 Words   |  4 Pagesstories are often told through narratives. string(101) " means that sufficient attention should be devoted to establishing the reason behind this disparity\." Various fiancà © experts in the United States give numerous opinions to ensure the quality of education is enriched (Nicola and Kim 67). They also maintain diverse views concerning the benefits of education in society. According to Sawhill Isabel, the state and the local government should make sufficient investments in education to give their children the best education (Sawhill 3). We will write a custom essay sample on Essay about the Education in the United States or any similar topic only for you Order Now They agree that education is very important both in the United States of America and in other parts of the world. As a result, education financing is essential to ensure that the quality of education is enhanced. Quality education is only possible when the system is well resourced, has the needed facilities and the right experts that drive its agenda. This study examines profound aspects of education financing in the United States in regards to the role of education, its significance for the country’s development, the reason for the huge gap between the expenditures on education and those of the military, and how that affects education system in the country. It relies greatly on the existing secondary resources to inform the findings presented with the aim of exploring what has been done in education financing to determine what should be done differently to improve education standards in the United States. Thesis Statement Any country’s ability to prosper depends greatly on its people’s enlightenment, but despite this fact, Mackey’s study shows that there is a weak correlation between expenditures on education and student’s outcome. Research Problem Academic performance among different schools differs in the United States. According to Fà ¤gerlind and Saha, policymakers and the public are greatly concerned with the dissimilar levels of funding in different schools in the country (Fà ¤gerlind and Saha 32). Ostensibly, education financing in the country differs from one state to another. However, K-12 is applied squarely by the states and local governments where the federal government finances only 10% of the total cost. It is also important to point out that states differ widely in the degree they thrive in providing a progressive funding to their schools. However, researchers question whether the increased school funding improves performance among the students. Importantly, there are greater links between government expenditure mechanisms and the country’s economic growth. In the case of the United States, a lot of money is spent in education but only yields middling results on the student’s international tests. It means that it is a matter that needs to be looked into keenly for a better future. Therefore, this study is significant in examining the relationship between education financing and the quality of education in the country. The Role of Education in the U.S. Education is a great prerequisite in any country’s ability to grow and prosper in different levels such as politics and economy. An ignorant nation is stagnating in everything, and that is why standard education should be promoted to ensure that its people are liberated, open-minded and well informed on various matters that allow the country to grow. In the United States, some schools perform better than others do. This can be attributed to education financing that differs from one school to another. This veracity raises a serious concern among different scholars who examine the role of education financing to stimulate performance. Education is essential for the development and growth of society. It is important that the quality of education should be improved to ensure that students are well prepared to be responsible citizens in society. America places great value in education, yes, but the varying tiers in its system are open to debate. The value of education is an important matter to deal with in this study since it allows people to be liberated and open-minded to access opportunities that support the growth of the society. The study by Nicola and Kim ask a very fundamental question as to whether education spending is related to students’ outcome. Their study, which focuses on the effects of public school funding, informed them that despite the effort to finance schools to offer quality education, there is lack of observable progressive relationship between students’ outcome and school spending. However, they identify two fundamental attributes of this veracity. Firstly, there is a limitation in using test score as a measure of a good learning environment and its success. In fact, they state that long-run outcomes may not be detected by relying on test score alone. The second problem that they relate to the previous studies is the outright correlation of actual changes in school spending to the changes in the students’ outcome. As posited by Nicola and Kim, doing so has been the reason behind the biased financing of the schools as witnessed in the United States. Some schools get government support than others. This means that even though education financing is an important matter in promoting the education standards, the criterion for deciding which school gets which amount of money should be evaluated critically. Why Education Remains Important for a Country’s Development Education is not only aimed at empowering and liberating people but also to promote the growth of society in totality. In fact, education is a human right that must be pursued by every individual. Unlike other human rights, education can never be taken for granted but must be guarded with sufficient attention to helping any society to grow and develop. Education is the backbone of any nation. It plays a fundamental role in developing the country in different spheres. It is worth pointing that educated people are easy to govern. It gives them the skills need to get themselves out of poverty. The prosperity of any nation depends entirely on education, which means that the standards of education in any country are significant for its growth and development. However, there has been an outcry that many youths today graduate with degrees in different fields, but the level of unemployment is an upsurge. It means that sufficient attention should be devoted to establishing the reason behind this disparity. You read "Essay about the Education in the United States" in category "Essay examples" According to a research done by Bowen, most of the American education focus has been more on job seeking rather than job creation. As a result, many young people graduate as job seekers instead of job creators (Bowen 21). The major challenge with this mindset is that the number of graduates produced every year cannot fit in the available job spaces. It means that if being employed is the focus for many graduates, they might end up being jobless since not all of them would be accommodated in the existing spaces in the job industry. In other words, education is important for the growth of a country, but only if the focus is good. Besides economic development, education is a key to in solving the world’s problems. For instance, the society is grappling with the problem of sustainable development. In fact, the challenge in environmental protection is non-trivial. To a large extent, education and sustainable development can only be realized when embedded within the mainstreams of education discipline at all levels. Essentially, it is important to align education policies with the problems that affect the society so as to find long-lasting solutions to them. The pedagogical approaches should consider these needs when implementing the curriculum and its policies. However, one thing that the people living in the United States of America can appreciate and attest to is that its education is more concerned about addressing the societal problems. This is helpful in its growth and development. Today, the country is celebrated as a leader in education standards in regards to producing competitive graduates in the world. People who graduate from America are all rounded in offering solutions to different problems affecting the society. The only question to answer is whether the support given to the schools in the United States is square. Also, there is a concern that other sectors get more funding compared to others. For example, there is a great gap between expenditure on education compared to the military. The Reason for the Huge Gap between Expenditures on Education, and Expenditures on Military in the U.S. Studies by Beattie show that the expenditure on the U.S. military has been higher compared to other sectors such as education (Beattie 2). One would ask whether it means that there is a lot of focus on war than on education. Surprisingly, many people, including government officials take a lot of time talking about the value of education in the United States of America. It means that it is a valuable investment, but when it comes to budgeting, the military gets a big funding compared to education. Notably, the primary indicator of a country’s priority lies in the government budget. In the year 2015, the money allocated for the military expenditure was 54% of the country’s discretionary spending. On the other hand, education only got 6%, a very big disparity. However, the state and the local government majorly fund education in the United States. Others think that when the federal government engages in financing education, more problems would arise. Cases of underpaid teachers and underfunded schools would plague the nation. Appallingly, even with the local government and states financing education, there is a great disparity between the way monies are allocated to schools (Darling-Hammond 23). Children from low-income families still find it difficult to access education compared to those from affluent families. On the other hand, Andrew Beattie a financial expert states that the public purse on the huge military spending in the United States remains an intricate matter, a difficult puzzle to solve. he refers to the argument of Adam Smith on free market economies that defense of a society is one of the primary roles of the government. He states that this alone is a justification for a practical fiscal policy. In this milieu, the government takes keen interest to ensure that its people are safe. To a larger extent, defending the nation is far-fetched. In practice, however, it means protecting the countries considered interests, and other matters pertaining to its growth. Bettie adds that more spending on one category implies insufficiency for another. It implies that the government does not have sufficient money to address all the needs of the citizens. As a result, capitation is done based on priorities, since capital is limited. In this regard, the government of the United takes the concern of security in its highest core issues to address compared to education and other matters. It does not mean that education and other matters like health are less important, but it implies that they are only possible when the security of the nation is standardized. As a result, the military receives more funding compared to education and other sectors. How Expenditures on Education Affect the Education System in the U.S The prosperity and brilliance of any nation greatly depend on its people’s enlightenment. This means that the government must pay proper attention to support its people to get a standard education (Seashore, Dretzke and Wahlstrom 320). This begs the question how expenditure in education affects its system. Obviously, nations like Korea, China, and other European countries understand that an educated nation is destined for success and growth. In this regard, it is relevant to investigate whether investment in education amounts to students achievement. Emiliana Vegas in his study alludes that there is a weak correlation between investment in education and students outcome. However, the same study rightly suggests that proper investment in education would improve the education system in Latin America and the Caribbean land. In fact, the scholar postulates that the developing countries need a more improved infrastructure in education to provide sufficient learning inputs to their students. It means that low expenditure in education affects the systemic standards, but when increased, the standards also improves due in terms of resources and facilities. Comparison between Education System in the United States and Other Countries Different countries have standard policies that guide budgetary allocations to different sectors. In the United States of America, financing education is a major role of the states and local governments. In other nations like Korea, China, and France among others, the federal government gives specific allocation to manage education system, but on the other hand, however, U.S. spends less on education system (Ravitch 25). However, this does not affect the students’ outcome, but one problem is that many students from the poor families are not able to access education like those from affluent families. In fact, this is also common to the countries where the federal government funds education activities. This implies that every country should pay more attention to the poor families who face difficulties in supporting their children’s education. In the United States, the cases of school dropouts are rampant among children from the low-income families. Conclusion This study points out that any country’s growth and progress depends greatly on its people’s edification. However, experts state that there is a weak correlation between expenditures on education and the students’ outcome. On the other hand, there is a need for sufficient financing to promote quality education, and this depends majorly on the resources and facilities within the education system. This means that the government should finance education system based on improving education standards, but not because of the students’ outcome. The United States of America is celebrated in the world as a leader in the quality of education, but one challenge that the government should address is the disparity in education financing among different schools. It implies that children from low-income families do not get a similar quality of education compared to those from the affluent families. Quality Plan Analysis And Cultural Assumption In Healthcare

Questions: 1. Some healthcare organizations post their quality plan on the Web. Search the Internet/Website for the quality plan for your local healthcare facility. Summarize the facility plan. Review and discuss plans introduced by your group members. 2. Consider the cultural assumptions and beliefs underlying a perfectionist mentality: perfection is always expected; mistakes arent allowed. This assumption can create an environment inhospitable to quality improvement. Are cultural assumptions addressed in the plan that you reviewed? What changes would you make to the plan regarding cultural perceptions? Why? Answers: 1. Quality is one of the most important aspects that the healthcare facilities should focus on. It is extremely important to provide quality healthcare service as this will ensure better health of the service users and will naturally develop the reputation of the healthcare organisation. Building an effective quality facility plan that prioritise the quality objectives will help the organisations to build the trust among the consumers as this will enable them to be consistent with the service quality and hence will develop the trust of the service users. The quality plan helps to develop quality objectives that add to the overall quality of service provided at the healthcare facilities. In the recent past there have been number of discussions on what should a quality service plan should be and what scholars felt was to introduce effective service provision and the attainment of best degree of quality served (Grol et al., 2013 p, 56). Healthcare facility is a key concept that most of the healthcare organisations will have to focus on. Healthcare facility plans are effective in developing the vision and mission of the healthcare organisation as it helps them to act effectively as per the laid out quality plan. There are number of healthcare companies all around the world which have focused on developing an effective quality plan which has helped them to work on the overall quality of the service provided to the care seekers (Scott et al., 2003 p, 78). One such organisation is Saddleback Memorial Medical Centre which has focused on planning an effective quality plan that has helped them to work effectively towards the provision of better healthcare facilities for the care seekers. Saddleback Memorial Medical Centre is based out South Orange County in California and is counted as one of the leading healthcare facility in that region for its effective high quality health service. The company has an effective quality plan that it intends to achieve step by step. Quality management is the science of process management and the organisation understands it well. The company has a mission that focuses on providing the best quality care to individuals and the vision works accordingly that focuses on having excellent people that helps them to provide extraordinary care every time. It is important to mention that effective quality plan includes value creation for the service users and this is done through accountability, fair practice and empathy and vibration within the organisation (Poksinska, 2010 p, 67). The organisation Saddleback has implemented these aspects effectively within their process of providing care so that value could be created for the service users. Qu ality depends on the management of healthcare process and not the doctors and nurses and hence the company has managed the quality of its health system which has helped them to provide customized care for the service users and this has also created value. The healthcare system of the organisation collaborates with different other healthcare organisations which has provided better facilities to the service users. Some of the movements by the company have been very effective for instance the company is one of the very few hospitals that provide minimal invasive heart surgeries that are an important breakthrough for the company in terms of providing quality care (Spath, 2009 p, 12). Saddleback Memorial also contributes to a large extent for the development of the community and collaborates with different organisations all across the place in South Orange County in order to provide the best quality service to the consumers. One of the major focuses of the company is to measure the impro vement of quality within the organisation as it will help the organisation to implement plans and programs for the development of the service quality. The company organises occasional assessment and quality audit which helps to identify the basic loopholes in service and eliminate them effectively for the development of service quality. As stated earlier the company prioritises value proposition and thats what has developed the service quality within the organisation. In the recent past the company has come up with valve evaluation which has advanced the cardiac treatment at the hospital and this has also contributed highly to meet the quality goals of the company. Overall it could be said that the quality plan of Saddleback Memorial Medical Centre is quite effective and visionary that strives to achieve excellence and perfection (Powell et al., 2009 p, 34). 2. Cultural assumptions often affect service provision and dont help an organisation to attain perfection. There are number of culturally biased assumptions which mainly state that all the patients have same expectation is wrong. It is important to mention that the sole motive of the patients to come in the hospital might be same that is to get cured but their requirements and needs might be different which needs to be properly assessed by eliminating these culturally biased assumptions. For instance at Saddleback the focus is always on person centered care, the company understands that the needs and wants of the different consumers are different and accordingly they provide person centered care which eliminate that issue of failing to provide quality service to people (Khatri et al., 2009 p, 23). What needs to be changed in the organisation is that the healthcare company doesnt have any separate system for people who cannot speak their minds. The company should come up with signific ant changes in its infrastructure so that the company is able to provide services even to consumers who are not able to speak or speak any other language. It is also important for the organisation Saddleback to include patients in the healing process (Dahlgaard et al., 2011). They should be viewed as the partners in the development process of their state of health. Quality measures should focus on developing effective counseling approaches which would help to improve the kind of service provided by the organisation. Saddleback Memorial needs to be sensitive towards the socio cultural preferences of their patients. They need to be familiar with the cultural norms and traditions of the people belonging to the different ethnic backgrounds and this will help them to create a strong bond with their end users and this will enable the organisation to ensure a long term association with their patients. The organisation needs to respect the cultural traditions of their patients and at the same time ensure that the patients are provided with excellent quality of care and treatment with their organisation. Having a proper cultural assumption regarding their patients will help the organisation to serve them in a better and effective manner and this will go a long way in ensuring customer satisfaction for their patients. Thus, the organisation will be able to retain their customers for the long haul by fostering brand loyalty among them (Spath, 2009 p, 62). Saddleback Memorial must recruit people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds within their organisation as this would enable them to indentify the needs and preferences of their different customers in a better and effective manner. They will be able to familiarize themselves with the social and cultural norms of people coming from different cultural background and this will help the organisation to deliver truly world class quality of care and treatment to their patients. Cultural assumptions play a very important role in ensuring a positive interaction with the patient and the care providers. This will help the patient to communicate their medical history and medical symptoms in an effective manner and this would help in better detection and diagnosis of the diseases suffered by the patients. This will enable Saddleback Memorial to gain the trust of their patients and this will help in ensuring customer satisfaction for the end-users of the organisation (Khatri et al., 2009 p, 96). Saddleback Memorial needs to get rid of any cultural biases and stereotypes which are usually found in the healthcare industry. The organisation needs to improve their way of thinking and they must try to understand how their unconscious thinking and assumptions is seriously affecting the quality of care and treatment which are being provided to the patients. This will enable them to ensure culturally competent care to their patients and thus the organisation will be able to further enhance the quality of care and treatment which are being presently delivered to their patients (Grol et al., 2013 p, 134). Finally it is important to mention that provider awareness is a significant culturally biased assumption where it is thought that the provider knows everything but it could be proven wrong and hence Saddleback in order to provide quality services should communicate with the service users in order to provide the best quality service (Campinha-Bacote, 2011 p, 45). buy custom Workplace Hazards essay

buy custom Workplace Hazards essay Sometimes it becomes hard for the organization to control some risks as they occur in the normal running of the business. Some hazards can only be avoided by stopping workers from doing their duties, and this means closing down the business (Cherrie Howie, 2010). Instead of closing down the business, the organization should come up with some measures of balancing the both issues as some hazards are inevitable. Most of the risks that occur in organizations, results from electricity, driving, confined working places, fire, gas, skin and respiratory sensitizers etc. To keep the organization running some measures should be put in place to avoid the most common types of hazards. To begin with, for the organizations to keep their employees at work, and at the same time control the hazards, most of the organizations have made use hazard control programs. This is an outlined procedure of the necessary steps that helps to protect workers from exposure to risky substances or system (Hughes, 2009). This program also assists the management to determine the level of exposure of the employees to the risk sources. Through the hazard control program, all the employees are provided with the basic knowledge on how to control their exposure to risk areas. The program allows the organization to determine the effectiveness of the control system to ensure workers are safe as they execute their duties. When deciding the best control measure to put in place, the organization should determine whether to use a temporary or a permanent depending on the type of the hazard. Before the company adopts a permanent measure, it may apply some temporary ones to keep the organization moving (Hughes, 2009). For instance, in case of noise hazards, the workers may be introduced to some hearing protection temporarily as the organization take permanent measures of dealing with the source of noise. Other ways of controlling hazards are through substitution, use of administrative controls or by use of personal protective equipments. Buy custom Workplace Hazards essay
